Convicted Felon Tired of People Thinking He's Playing Threatens Man With Utility Knife: Prosecutor
Evergreen Park police arrest man after utility knife confrontation, prosecutor says.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- A Chicago man who is tired of people thinking he is playing is accused of pulling a utility knife on another man during an altercation, prosecutors said Monday in court.
Amarri Bowens, 25, appeared before Cook County Peter Felice on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bowens recently got off parole in April after serving four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a burglary charge, the prosecutor said.
According to the charges, Bowens was arguing with another man in the 3200 block of West 87th Street, Evergreen Park. Police said Bowens pulled out a utility knife and yelled, “I’m tired of m------ f------ thinking I’m playing.”

The assistant public defender told the judge Bowens is working with an organization that helps ex-offenders re-enter society. He is currently living with his mother.
Bail was set at $10,000. Bowens has to come back to court Sept. 8 in Bridgeivew.
