The man was arguing with his girlfriend in Evergreen Park police station when he slammed door against cop, prosecutors said.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- A Chicago high school student quarreling with his girlfriend in the Evergreen Park police station was arrested after he slammed a door on a police officer, prosecutors said. Marquis Gross, 19, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony charge of aggravated battery to a police office. Gross is also facing a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest.

According to the charges, Gross and his girlfriend, who is pregnant, were arguing in the Evergreen Park police station. An officer was trying to calm them both down, when Gross got mad and pushed a door into the police officer. The officer received a minor scratch.

The assistant public defender told the judge that Gross is in high school. Gross had no issues with the police officer and wasn’t trying to push the door into him.
