EPCHS Class of 2020 Gets Send-Off At Drive-Thru Graduation

Face masks and giant photo heads of graduates send off Evergreen Park Community High School's pandemic Class of 2020.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The Class of 2020 got a great send-off Thursday evening from their teachers during a drive-thru graduation ceremony at Evergreen Park Community High School. School officials spent weeks planning the logistics for the drive-thru graduation ceremony that ran like a crack military operation.

The graduates drove through a line of cheering teachers in their family vehicles before stopping by the entrance of a balloon tunnel where students got and waited to walk through a balloon tunnel to a mini-stage to receive their diplomas and pose for pictures.

It was a chance for students to hear their names called and to walk across the stage — one at a time. Graduates also picked up a schwag bag of goodies, including an EPCHS Class of 2020 face mask.
