EPCHS Music Department Visits Walt Disney World Over Spring Break
Members of the EPCHS band, choir and color guard performed at "The Happiest Place on Earth" from April 6-April 10.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL – Members of Evergreen Park Community High School Music Department are back from an experience of a lifetime, having spent much of their Spring Break touring Walt Disney World in Florida.
Sixty-eight student participants involved in the EPCHS band, choir and color guard made the trip to what’s often referred to as “The Happiest Place on Earth” from April 6 to April 10. The trip was made possible when the band and choir were accepted to perform there through a submitted audition demonstrating ensemble excellence last spring.
Highlights of the trip included the band and color guard marching in the Festival of Fantasy Parade through Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom with thousands of spectators and the choir performing a concert on the Waterside Stage at Disney Springs before hundreds of spectators. All groups also participated in Disney Imagination campus workshops under the direction of Disney's elite music educators and performing artists, in which they were offered a chance to spend one morning as honorary Disney cast members.

The trip was led by Band Director Colin Curatolo, Choir Director Logan Scalf and Color Guard instructor Ky Boksa. EPCHS partnered with the Bob Rogers Travel Company on the trip, with volunteer chaperones assisting as well.
“We took advantage of our time there to celebrate the success of our students and the EPCHS music department,” Curatolo said.
