EPCHS Senior Colin Brennan Named National Merit Finalist
Colin is the son of Dan and Kathleen Brennan.

Evergreen Park Community High School senior Colin Brennan has advanced to Finalist in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program, a recognition awarded to only the top one percent of high school seniors nationwide. Approximately 16,000 students qualified as semifinalists and Colin was one of those students. He continued on in the competition for 7,600 National Merit Scholarships.
To qualify Colin had to place well on the preliminary PSAT standardized test and submit a scholarship application that detailed school performance, leadership skills, community activities, and honors and awards received. He also had to write an essay and receive a recommendation from a school official.
“I am so very proud of Colin," said Eileen Durkin, Colin’s guidance counselor. “The sky is the limit! It has been an honor and privilege to be his counselor. His humble and kind nature are some of his greatest assets, along with his intelligence and determination. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him."
