EPCHS Seniors Volunteer at Village Pantry

Kevin O'Toole got in touch with classmates CJ Kompare and Matt Miglieri to see if they would be willing to volunteer with him.

A few weeks ago, Kevin O’Toole heard that the Evergreen Park Village Pantry was in need of volunteers as they have seen a major increase in the need for their services. Kevin got in touch with classmates CJ Kompare and Matt Miglieri to see if they would be willing to volunteer with him. They have been helping out ever since. “It’s nice to know that I’m helping people have one less thing to worry about during this hard time,” said CJ Kompare.

“I feel a great sense of fulfillment helping out at the food pantry,” said Matt Miglieri. “Knowing that I am helping hundreds of families have access to food during this strenuous time offers me a feeling of accomplishment when I would otherwise feel frustrated by the inability to make a positive change. I was naive in my assumption that many people in my community were not struggling due to these circumstances, but I am grateful for the opportunity to help others.”

Kevin added, “The EP Village Pantry is experiencing a huge surge in the amount of food they are having to give out. If you are able to make a monetary or food donation, it would really go a long way in these tough times.”
