EPCHS STamPede Parent Group Announces Staff Members of the Year
In previous years, students voted for Teacher of the Year. This year, the Support Staff Member category was added to the ballot.
The STamPede Parent Group recently named the 2020 EPCHS Teacher and Support Staff Member of the Year. In previous years, students voted for Teacher of the Year. This year, the Support Staff Member category was added to the ballot. Students vote based upon who they feel is most supportive and deserving.
Mr. Kevin Knapik was named STamPede Teacher of the Year. Mr. Knapik is a science teacher and co-sponsor for the Class of 2020 and the Science Olympiads. “Thank you to the Evergreen Park parents who organized this recognition and the students who voted,” said Mr. Knapik. “This was an uplifting surprise.”
Ms. Katie Hyland was named STamPede Support Staff Member of the Year. Ms. Hyland is a paraprofessional and the head of Student Leadership. “I am truly honored to receive this award especially since it was the students who voted,” said Ms. Hyland. “I feel so blessed to work with the amazing students and fantastic staff at EPCHS.”

In previous years, the recipient was recognized at a Board of Education meeting and at Honors Night. This year, the STamPede Parent Group will provide Mr. Knapik and Ms. Hyland with a gift card.
