Ranger Up Healing for Sgt. Brad Hojek, Jr. Benefit

Evergreen Park resident, Sgt. Brad Hojek, Jr., of the United States Army, was injured earlier this year, when he was shot multiple times during an overseas deployment. After being shot several times in the pelvis, hip and abdome, he spent time at a Texas military hospital, before being transported to a rehabilitation center, where he currently resides.

According to the event and group website, "Brad was born and raised in Evergreen Park, is a 2006 Oak Lawn High School graduate.  He is the grandson, of the late Fire Chief John Hojek Sr. of Evergreen Park Fire Dept., the son of Bridgeview Firefighter Brad Hojek Sr. & nephew to several firefighters and police officers.  He comes from a family who prides themselves on serving their country and community."

Proceeds from the fundraiser, held July 17 in Hojek's honor, will go toward helping Hojek's family travel to Texas to take turns taking care of him.Tickets are $25 for adults in advance and $30 at the door for adults. For children ages 6-12, tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Children 5 and under are free.

The benefit will include food, drinks, entertainment, and live bands Bernie Glim and the Country Road Band, and Slippery When Wet, which will perform on stage at 4:30 PM.
