Evergreen Park Little League Coach Says He Did 'The Right Thing' in Raising Questions About Jackie Robinson West

Twitter erupts with insults and insinuations that the complaints are just "sour grapes."

The Evergreen Park Little League official who made allegations the U.S. Little League champions cheated says he did “the right thing.”

Chris Janes asked Little League International to investigate Jackie Robinson West Little League and evidence several players lived outside the league’s Chicago boundaries. Janes went public this week in a story published by Mark Konkol for DNAinfo Chicago. Little League International said it’s satisfied the rules weren’t broken. Jackie Robinson LL officials insist they did not cheat.

When the team played amazing baseball on their way to the Little League World Series, their inspiring story captured national attention. So, too, did the accusations of cheating. Janes and the Evergreen Park Little League were slammed on social media in the days after the story broke, accused of being “petty” and breaking out the “haterade.”

“I’ve gotten several messages telling me that I’m an idiot. Telling me that it’s sour grapes. Telling me I should resign,” Janes told DNAinfo. “But I have no regrets. I feel like we’re doing the right thing and we just have to keep moving forward. … I don’t think this is over.”
