Evergreen Park Police Ramp Up Seat Belt, DUI Enforcement During July 4th Holiday Period

Evergreen Park police will ramp up seat belt and DUI patrols from June 20 to July 7 leading up to the July 4th holiday.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Evergreen Park police will heighten their presence on the street for the upcoming July 4th holiday to focus on enforcing seat belt laws from June 20 through July 7.

Over the past few years, Evergreen Park police have seen an increase in careless and risky driving. The “Click It Or Ticket” campaign is aimed at reducing risky driving behaviors.

Expect to see ramped up patrols on village streets and roadways leading up to the Fourth of July, which this year falls on a Friday. During this period, officers will intensify enforcement of occupant protection laws.

This enforcement effort was made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
