Evergreen Park Schools' E-Learning Plans Start
Information about e-learning plans, device pick-up, event cancellations and more for Evergreen Park schools in response to COVID-19.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Evergreen Park schools are lining up e-learning plans for pubic and parochial student after Gov. J.B. Pritzker ordered all Illinois schools to remain closed through March 30.
Spring break for Evergreen Park Community High School and Evergreen Park Dist. 124 elementary schools is scheduled for the week of April 12.

All D124 schools, including Northeast Northwest, Southeast, Southwest K-5 schools, and Central Middle School, will be closed March 16 through March 30.

Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17, will be considered non-attendance days for students, as the administration and staff works to solidify the district's e-learning program. Students should be prepared to start e-leaning on Wednesday, March 18.
Pending the results of a survey sent to parents on Friday, iPads and Chromebooks will be available for student pickup between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, March 16, at the D124 administration building, 2929 W. 87th St. (CORRECTED).

Anyone receiving a district device on Monday will be required to sign an agreement taking responsibility for the care of the device. Paper copies of the online curriculum will be available starting March 18t.
Evergreen Park Community High School Dist. 231
Evergreen Park Community High School will be closed starting Monday, March 16. Faculty and staff will in attendance on Monday to develop e-learning plans for students to use beginning Tuesday, March 17. EPCHS anticipates students will utilizing e-learning a minimum of two weeks.
The high school’s spring musical “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” originally scheduled for this weekend has been postponed.
Earlier this week, the Illinois High School Association announced plans to cancel winter state series, including the boys’ basketball tournament and other high school events.
“EPCHS has not had a case of the coronavirus in our building,” school officials said in an email to parents. “It is our hope that closing school, combined with other efforts to reduce possible exposure to the virus, will have an impact on reducing the spread of the coronavirus.”
