FBI Releases Photos, Flier in Oak Lawn Bank Robbery

A man with bandages on his face and wearing a white hard hat robbed an Oak Lawn bank late Tuesday afternoon.

Oak Lawn police were dispatched to the TCF bank branch, 9801 S. Cicero Ave., around 4:45 p.m. for a robbery that occurred moments earlier.

Witnesses told police and FBI investigators that a black male entered the TCF bank branch around 4:40 p.m. and presented a demand note to the teller.

The note alleged the man had a weapon but one was not displayed, investigators said.

The suspect was described as a black male with a medium complexion, around six feet tall and weighing a approximately 190 pounds. Witnesses said he had a white bandage on his right cheek and a Band-aid on his left jaw. He was wearing a white hard hat, black zip-up sweatshird, black T-shirt and dark pants.

Police said no one was injured in the robbery. The investigation has been turned over to the FBI. The TCF bank branch has frequently been robbed over the years.

The FBi released a “wanted” flier on Wednesday afternoon. A reward is being offered. The man does not appear to be linked to any other bank robberies and has not yet acquired a colorful moniker. He is to be considered armed and dangerous.
