Food Trucks Stop Thursday At Klein Park For 'Picnic In The Park'

EVERGREEN PARK, IL – Enjoy an evening of delicious food, great music and summer this Thursday, July 25 at the Picnic In The Park: Food Truck Festival kicks off from 5 to 8 p.m. at Klein Park, 97th Street and Homan Avenue.

Residents and visitors are invited to sample a diverse array of culinary offerings from returning and new food trucks. Confirmed food trucks include Barraco’s, Hawaiian Food Truck, Nicky V’s, Rojo Verde Antojitos Mexicanos and Quincy Culinary. The Evergreen Park Youth Department will also be on hand selling frozen treats.

John Dreznes, with Beverly Records, returns with his massive record collection to provide the soundtrack for the evening.

“The annual food truck event has become a summer tradition in Evergreen Park,” Mayor Kelly Burke said. “ It’s a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy fantastic food, and create lasting memories.”

Burke, Village Clerk Kelly Duffy, and village trustees will be on hand as guest bartenders. All profits from the beverage sales will support the Evergreen Pak Food Pantry.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their blankets or lawn chairs. The event is free to attend, with food and drinks available for purchase from individual vendors.
