Humana Debuts New Community Center In Evergreen Park

Humana opens new community center with a focus on seniors in Evergreen Plaza. Open House planned for Aug. 14.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Humana is bringing a new community center to Evergreen Park that aims to break down barriers to health and help community members be healthy together. Area residents are invited to attend an open house on Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The new center is located in the Evergreen Plaza at 9522 S. Western Ave., between David’s Bridal and Planet Fitness.

Attendees can tour the center, meet Humana team members, learn about classes and services available to the community, and attend cooking and fitness/exercise demonstrations. This is the health and well-being company’s first community location in Cook County. The center is open to all ages, with a focus on the senior community, to make friends and engage in fun, healthy activities. Most activities are offered at no charge and participants need not be Humana members to participate. For Humana Medicare members, SilverSneakers classes are offered to encourage physical fitness and social interaction. A Humana employee is available at the location every day to help with questions and provide customer service assistance (for example, getting a new ID card); to discuss Humana’s Medicare health plans and prescription drug plans for people 65 and over; and to discuss dental, vision, and other specialty products for any individual.
