Indiana Teacher Who Wanted to be ‘Sex Daddy’ Nabbed by Cop Posing as Teen Girl: Prosecutor

Prosecutor said teacher posted ad saying he wanted to be daddy to young girl so he could teach her the correct way to perform oral sex.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- An Indiana fourth-grade math teacher who thought he was setting up a date with a 15-year-old girl was nabbed in an undercover sex sting in Evergreen Park, prosecutors said Thursday in court.

Eric Trybus, 42, of the 1600 block of West Estes, Chicago, appeared before Cook County Judge Donald Havis on charges of travelling to meet a minor and indecent solicitation of a child on the Internet.

Evergreen Park police, working in tandem with Cook County State’s Attorney investigators, came across an ad on Sept. 6 that Trybus had allegedly posted on a dating website entitled, “Your Parents Wouldn’t Approve of You Searching for an Older Man.”

Trybus said in the ad he wanted become a daddy to a younger girl. An Evergreen Park police officer posing as a 15-year-old girl contacted Trybus via email, the prosecutor said.

Between Sept. 6 and Sept. 13, Trybus and the undercover cop exchanged a series of emails. Trybus allegedly said he wanted to teach the girl about sex, including how to properly perform oral sex. The prosecutor said that Trybus told her to keep their email communication a secret.

The Evergreen Park officer and Trybus arranged to meet on Sept. 13 at the McDonald’s at 2620 W. 95th St., Evergreen Park. Shortly after 4 p.m., the prosecutor said Trybus sent the girl an email, stating he was leaving work. He arrived around 5:45 p.m, where he was arrested by police.

Police said that Trybus made admissions to placing the ad. Trybus has no prior criminal background, according to the prosecutor.

Bail was set at $250,000. Trybus’s attorney told the judge that his client’s parents were in court and could only scrape together $10,000 for bond. The attorney asked if bail could be reduced.

Judge Havis said considering that Trybus was an elementary school teacher who works with children, he wasn’t comfortable reducing bond and that the original amount would stand.

Trybus was ordered to have no contact with children under age 18 while the case is pending. He is also prohibited from using the Internet or a cell phone with Internet access.

The judge ordered Trybus to appear back in court Oct. 11 in Bridgeview.

This is the second arrest made in Evergreen Park involving an adult soliciting sex with an underage girl.
