Knife Wielding Robbers Nabbed in Evergreen Park Home Invasion: Police

Charges pending against two suspects who robbed a resident in their home on Sept. 21, cops said.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL, Sept. 23, 2016 -- Evergreen Park police have two suspects in custody for a home invasion that took place Wednesday evening, a police news release said.

Around 8:42 p.m. Sept. 21, police responed to the 2900 block of West 99th Place for a report of an armed robbery. When officers arrived, they were told two people had entered the residence through an unlocked back door.

One of the alleged robbers approached the resident with a knife in his hand and asked where the money and jewelry were kept. The second person remained in the kitchen area. After the resident gave the robber some cash, the two left through the back door, police said.

Evergreen Park police took both suspects into custody on Thursday. Charges are pending.
