Loaded Luger Found in Speeder's Glove Box: Cops

Prosecutor said man admitted to police he was the owner of gun.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- A man pulled over for speeding in Evergreen Park was arrested after police found a gun in his car, prosecutors said.

Evergreen Park police stopped James Conley, 23, for speeding around 8:56 p.m. March 26 on 95th Street near Western Avenue. Police also found him to have no driver’s license.

During a search of his car, police found a loaded Luger in the glove box along with ten live rounds. Conley admitted to police that the gun was his, the prosecutor said.

Conley served one year in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the same offense in 2012, according to court records.

Bail was set at $150,000. Conley’s next hearing is April 17 in Bridgeview.
