Long-Time Resident Jeannie Olson Appointed New Village Trustee

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Long-time resident Jeannie Olson has been appointed trustee to the Evergreen Park Village Board. Olson will take Mayor Kelly Burke’s former seat on the village board, which Burke vacated when she was elected mayor in the April election.

The mayor and village trustees interviewed approximately 20 applicants for the position, according to a village news release. Olson impressed them as a long-time village resident who has been an active volunteer with the District 124 Foundation, Southwest Elementary, and Most Holy Redeemer Parish. She also co-chairs the Homeless Veteran Toiletry Drive for Hines VA Hospital.

In her professional life, Olson is the director of data management for a real estate investment firm. She and her husband have two kids, one in middle school and the other in elementary school.

“Jeannie brings great experience in the business that will be an asset to the village,” Burke said in a written statement. “Her extensive volunteerism within Evergreen Park showcases her community spirit and willingness to pitch in and get things done.”

Olson will be sworn in at the July 19 village board meeting. She will serve for the next two years. Should Olson choose, she will run for a full four-year term in the April 2023 consolidated election.
