Love The Earth Saturday At The EP Library Earth Day Celebration

The Evergreen Park Library honors long-time supporter Helen Cuprisin with a day of Earth Day-related programming Saturday, April 22.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Show your love for the earth this Saturday, April 22, at the Evergreen Park Public Library “Helen Cuprisin Earth Day Celebration.” Events are scheduled throughout the day.

The library is honoring long-time library supporter Helen Cuprisin’s commitment to the library and the environment with Earth Day-related programming:

Plant Swap - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lasting Legacies of Women Who Loved Nature with Mary Miritello - 11 a.m.
Earth Day DIY for Kids - Noon to 2 p.m.
Teen Clothing Swap - 1 to 3 p.m.
Petra van Nuis (vocals) and Andy Brown (guitar) present A Gardener's Melody - 2 p.m.
Taproot Farms and Brookfield Zoo Communities and Nature will also be appearing.

Helen and her husband, Mike, raised their family in Evergreen Park and were very involved in the community, the schools and the library. Helen was a voracious reader and loved films. She served on the Library Foundation Board since its inception. As the owner of Alphabet Soup, a desktop publishing company, she designed the library newsletter for many years. Helen was a dedicated environmentalist who worked to initiate curbside recycling in the village.

The Evergreen Park Public Library is located at 9400 S. Troy Ave.
