Man Arrested Attempting to Return Box Spring With Fake Driver's License: Cops
Man was trying to get refund at Menards, prosecutors say.

A man trying to return a box spring at Menard’s was arrested when he tried to use a fake drivers license, prosecutors said.
Terrence Eagins, 49, appeared in bond court Monday on a charge of identity theft.

According to the charges, Evergreen Park police were dispatched to the store at 9100 S. Western Ave. around 11:18 a.m. Sept. 13 for a possible deceptive practice.
Prosecutors said that Eagins was trying to return a box spring without a receipt for $129 for cash or an in-store credit.

The manager claimed that he immediately recognized Eagins’ driver’s license to be fake because the picture and information was not consistent with an actual Illinois license, police said.
Eagins is currently on parole for retail theft, according to Illinois Department of Corrections records.
Bail was set at $150,000. Eagins is due back in court Oct. 5.
