Pace Bus Passenger Threatens Elderly Man With Knife: Prosecutor
Prosecutor said Blue Island woman pulled out knife and told elderly bus passenger she was going to "take your cane and break it."

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- A Blue Island woman pulled a knife and threatened to break an elderly man’s cane on a Pace bus, prosecutors said. Shundia Kennedy, 37, appeared before Cook County Judge Michael Kane on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. Kennedy has a pending battery case.
The prosecutor said Kennedy was riding the #331 Pace bus Thursday morning around 8:30 a.m. Near 95th Street and Homan Avenue, Kennedy allegedly pulled out a 3 ½-inch pocket knife and threatened an elderly passenger. Other passengers told police that Kennedy was talking to herself on the bus and felt alarmed when she pulled out a knife.
With knife in hand, Kennedy stood two feet away from the elderly man holding the blade outward and mumbling, the prosecutor said. According to the charges, Kennedy told the man “I’ll take that cane and break it.” The prosecutor said that Kennedy and the passenger did not know each other.
