Ronnie Moore, 53 | Cook County Sheriff

Evergreen Park, IL, June 22, 2016 -- A Chicago man currently on parole and with a pending theft case is accused of forging several checks stolen from an Evergreen Park woman, prosecutors said Tuesday in court.

Ronnie Moore, 53, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony forgery charge.
According to the prosecutor, an Evergreen Park woman was notified by Fifth Third Bank on June 9 of suspicious activity in her checking account.
The woman noticed that several blank checks were missing from her check book. One of the checks was allegedly made payable to Moore in the amount of $193 for “computer repair.”
The prosecutor said the woman did not know Moore, nor did she hire him to do computer repair.
Moore is currently on parole for a theft conviction from January 2014. He also has a pending retail theft charge out of Evanston, as well as several other past theft convictions, the prosecutor said.
The assistant public defender told the judge Moore currently lives in a shelter.
“His background is a horrific litany of crime,” Judge Felice said.
Moore was also charged with three misdemeanors counts theft of lost or mislaid property.
Bail was set at $10,000 each for the misdemeanors, and $150,000 for the felony charge.
Moore’s next court date is July 13 in Bridgeview.
