Passenger Arrested For Tossing Heroin Out Car Window: Police

Evergreen Park police were pulling vehicle over for a traffic stop when a passenger threw a bag of heroin out the window, prosecutor said.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- An Evergreen Park man was arrested after he threw heroin out the window of a car before police pulled the vehicle over for a traffic stop, prosecutors said. Joseph Casper, 23, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

According to the charges, Casper was a passenger in the vehicle when it was pulled over Aug. 30 near Columbus Avenue and Pulaski Road for a traffic violation. As police approached the car, Casper allegedly tossed some narcotics out the window. The prosecutor said officers found a bag of heroin in the street. Two more bags were found on Casper’s person in when he was searched at the Evergreen Park police station, the prosecutor said.

Casper allegedly admitted to purchasing 14 grams of heroin in Chicago. He was release on a $1,000 I-bond. Casper’s next court date is Sept. 20 in Bridgeview.
