Prescription Pills Tossed from Window of Speeding Car: Cops
Cops retrieved bottle of hydrocodone from street after Chicago man threw it out car window, prosecutor said.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested on drug charges after he was seen tossing a bottle of pills out the window of a speeding car, prosecutors said Friday in court.
Kamel Othman, 26, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a possession of a controlled substance charge.
Evergreen Park police spotted a dark blue Chevy Acura around driving 55-mph in a 45-mph speed zone around 8 p.m. April 22.

The prosecutor said that Othman was a passenger in a car. While officers were running the Acura’s plate number, officers saw Othman toss a bottle of pills out the window.
Police stopped the vehicle at 86th Street and California Avenue. Officers were able to immediately recover the bottle which contained 34 tablets of hydrocodone in the street.

Othman told police the pills were not his, the prosecutor said.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Othman had a prescription for the pills.
Judge Felice gave Othman a $10,000 I-bond. The judge also ordered random drug testing.
Othman is due back in court May 21 in Bridgeview.
