Armed Robber Strikes Oak Lawn, Holds Up Two People at Gunpoint: Cops

Oak Lawn police are looking into possibility of suspect being tied to Burbank robberies that happened earlier this week.

OAK LAWN, IL -- Two people were robbed at gunpoint Wednesday evening in Oak Lawn. The latest incident follows on the heels of two armed robberies that happened in Burbank earlier this week.

Oak Lawn police responded around 9:51 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery in the 9100 block of South 52nd Court. The residents reported being approached from behind by man who displayed a black handgun and demanded their money.

The alleged robber is described as a young looking male Hispanic possibly in his early twenties, about 5-feet-8-inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

After grabbing the money, the man fled the area on foot southbound on 52nd Court. No injuries were reported.

Oak Lawn police are investigating the possibly of this suspect being involved in similar robberies that happened on March 6 and March 7 in Burbank. The victims in those incidents also described a male Hispanic using the same modus operandi and wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
