4 Chicago Men Kidnap Driver From Car In Oak Lawn: Police

Oak Lawn police said the four men pulled the driver from the car in retaliation for a stabbing that happened in Chicago.

OAK LAWN, IL -- Four men were arrested after they pulled a driver from his car in Oak Lawn last Thursday, in retaliation for a stabbing that happened in Chicago, police said. The suspects are being held without bail following a bond hearing Sunday afternoon at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building.

Police said that a witness reported seeing four men get out of their vehicle approach another car around 11:30 p.m. Sept. 20, which had stopped at a red light at 103rd Street and Cicero Avenue. The men tried to pull the driver from his car, which was occupied by a woman and a young child. The driver resisted and was able drive away, but only made it to the 4700 block of West 101st Street when the tire on his car went flat. Police said the four men yanked the driver out his car and threw him into their own vehicle, fleeing the area.

Oak Lawn detectives were able to develop information that led them to the area of 60th Street and Elizabeth Avenue. Detectives found the vehicle and the four men who were taken into custody after being identified by witnesses, police said. The men had released the driver who was not on the scene when police arrived. He was found later in the are. Police said the man suffered minor facial injuries during the kidnapping and later while he was being held captive.
