Pet Lovers Gather For 'Heroes To The Rescue' Pet Adoption Event

Mingle with superheroes and enjoy a dinner buffet and kids' activities at PetGotchaDay's pet adoption event Nov. 3 at 115 Bourbon Street.

CRESTWOOD, IL -- Meet some super pets and superheroes at Pet Gotcha Day’s “Heroes To The Rescue” benefit at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park. Join the superheroes as they marvel over adoptable animals and bring home a new buddy. The benefit happens this Saturday, Nov. 3, from 3 to 7 p.m.

WGN’s own Marcella Raymond will emcee the event. Rescue organizations will be bringing in an assortment of adoptable dogs and cats looking for forever homes, including Reilly’s Rescue Foundation, Forget Me Not Animal Rescue, South Suburban Humane Society of Chicago Heights, NAWS of Mokena, and Chicago Animal Care and Control.

This year Pet Gotcha Day will be honoring some local heroes -- teachers. More than 30 teachers from the south suburbs have been nominated by their students for a special award in recognition of the devotion in the classroom.
