St. Catherine's has openings for a junior high science teacher and middle school language arts teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.

OAK LAWN, IL — St. Catherine of Alexandria School in Oak Lawn has two teaching positions open for the 2019-2020 school year. The school is looking for energetic, motivated teachers to join the school’s middle school and junior high school teams and SCA community.

Science Teacher Junior High
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and valid Illinois Professional Educator License. The teacher in this position will have a junior high homeroom and teach departmental science to 7th and 8th grade. Expectations include, but are not limited to:
- planning engaging lessons that are aligned to the curriculum and integrate technology
- using formative and summative assessment data to inform and differentiate instruction
- establishing and maintaining a positive classroom environment
- teaching and modeling the Catholic faith
- collaborating with the other junior high teachers, science teachers, and other faculty members
- maintaining communication with parents
- participation in ongoing professional development
- compliance with all Archdiocesan requirements and handbook expectations

Language Arts Teacher - Middle School
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and valid Illinois Professional Educator License. The teacher in this position will have a 6th grade homeroom and teach departmental English to 5th and 6th grade. Expectations include, but are not limited to:
- planning engaging lessons that are aligned to the curriculum and integrate technology
- using formative and summative assessment data to inform and differentiate instruction
- establishing and maintaining a positive classroom environment
- teaching and modeling the Catholic faith
- collaborating with the middle school teachers, ELA teachers, and other faculty members
- maintaining communication with parents
- participation in ongoing professional development
- compliance with all Archdiocesan requirements and handbook expectations
