BURBANK, IL — A Burbank man is accused of firing a gun inside a home that left another man wounded last Friday. Mahmoud Abumaghli, 27, is facing a felony charge of reckless discharge of a firearm. Police believe that shooting to be an "isolated domestic incident."

Burbank police responded to a possible shots-fired call around 9 a.m. Aug. 9 in the 7900 block of Oak Park Avenue. When officers arrived at the home, they discovered that another household member had been shot. Police said Abumaghli lived at the address where the shooting took place. Three people, including Abumaghli, were taken in for questioning.

One man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound reportedly to the leg. He was in stable condition as of late last Friday evening at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Police said the injured man was uncooperative in their investigation. The injured man is believed to have been released over the weekend.

Abumaghli was brought to the Leighton Criminal Courts Building at 26th and California last Saturday, where bail was set at $15,000. He was placed on electronic monitoring. Abumaghli's next court date is Sept. 4 in Bridgeview.

"No other charges were approved at this time mainly[,] in part, [because] we did not have a cooperating witness," Burbank Police Division Chief Mike Dudlo said in an email. "It should be noted [we] were able to secure a search warrant for the premises."
