South Side Man Sells Heroin To Undercover Evergreen Park Cop: Prosecutor
South Side man sold heroin to undercover Evergreen Park cop three times, prosecutor said.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- A South Side man was arrested after he sold heroin three times to an Evergreen Park police officer working undercover, prosecutors said. Akeem Gardner, 27, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on three counts of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. The prosecutor said that Gardner has a pending misdemeanor aggravated assault charge out of Chicago.
According to the charges, Gardner sold heroin to an undercover cop on Aug. 25, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. All of the sales took place at 85th Street and Pulaski Road. The combined weight of heroin from the three separate sales totaled 3.4 grams, police said. The assistant public defender asked that Gardner be released on an I-bond.
“I don’t mean to laugh but three drug sales,” Felice said. “Not one, not two but three sales of heroin. How many people did he allegedly sell heroin to that aren’t undercover cops.”

“Don’t mistake kindness for weakness,” Felice said. “I still consider you a danger.”
