2 Hometown Heroes On USA Women's Hockey Team Go For Olympic Gold: Where To Watch

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Olympic hockey fever has gripped the Southland, with two hometown heroes playing for the USA Women’s Hockey team. Abbey Murphy, of Evergreen Park, and Kendall Coyne Schofield, of Palos Heights, are in Milan, Italy, where they are taking their second shot at Olympic gold.
The U.S. women’s hockey team already picked up their first win Thursday in a 5 to 1 win over Czechia in the first preliminary game. The next preliminary round matchup between the USA and Finland will be played at 9:40 a.m. CT, Saturday, Feb. 7.
The women's Olympic hockey tournament features 28 games over a span of 15 days as 10 teams, each representing their respective country, come together to determine an international champion.

The women’s tournament has 10 teams split into two groups of five teams. Group A comprises the U.S. Canada, Finland, Switzerland, Czechia, with Sweden, Italy, Japan, Germany and France composing Group B. Each team will play every team in their group to determine seeding. All five teams from Group A and the top three teams from Group B will move on to the quarterfinals. Losing teams will be knocked out of the running for the gold in the quarterfinals, as the winners advance to the semifinals.

Other preliminary matchups are set for Monday, Feb. 9, when the United States plays Switzerland Monday, Feb. 9, and faces rival Canada in its first meetup, Tuesday, Feb. 10. Both games start at 1:10 p.m. CT.
Quarterfinals start Friday, Feb. 13 and continue through Saturday, Feb.14. The top four winners of the quarterfinals will advance to the semifinals, with two games set for Monday, Feb. 16.
The losers of the semifinals will play for the bronze, with the two winners of the semifinals facing off for the championship gold on Feb. 19.
NBC is airing at least 12 hours of daytime coverage every day during the 2026 Olympics, beginning in the morning and stretching into primetime and late night. See which events the network is airing.
Peacock will be the streaming home of the Winter Olympics. Fans will be able to stream every sport and event, 116 medal events across 16 sports in total.
Additionally, CNBC and USA TV Network will also broadcast a limited range of Olympic events.
