Sunny Day In Store For EP Farmers Market

Thursday, May 8 looks to be a beautiful day for the Market at Yukich Field.

The Evergreen Park Farmers Market is now open for its twentieth season! The Market takes place at Yukich Field, 89th and Kedzie Avenue, from 8am-1pm every Thursday until October 30.

With a beautiful weather day in store, the market also brings some special additions. Starting Thursday, May 8, the Record Shop on 95th Street will be the Market DJ, spinning records from 10am-12pm.

“It has been wonderful to see the market grow over the years,” commented Beth Novotney, Director of the Office of Citizens’ Services and Coordinator of the Market. “Some of our vendors have been with us the entire time, such as Laurie’s Creations, Dotson’s Farm and Hiemenz Nursery to name a few. We’ve been able to attract many new vendors, including a handful this year.”

Those new vendors include:

“We open the season with an “All Things Spring” theme, with garden plants, flower baskets and a large array of annuals and perennials, just in time for Mother’s Day,” Ms. Novotney continued. “We also have handmade items, tasty foods and other yummy baked goodies.”

Visitors are reminded that weekly vendor attendance may vary throughout the season. Also, as a courtesy to other guests and to maintain safe food practices, live animals and pets..other than service animals. . .are not allowed at the Farmers Market.

“We are also happy that this summer, we will be adding some new activities for all ages. Please join us. We’re here every Thursday for the next six months!”
