Veteran Administrator Named New Central Middle School Principal
The Dist. 124 Board of Education approves hiring of new Central Middle School principal.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- With little time left to spare, a second search for a new principal of Central Middle School has resulted in the hiring of a veteran administrator. The Evergreen Park School District 124 Board of Education has approved the hiring of Michelle Reed during the July 14 board meeting.
Reed comes to D124 from Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School in Oak Park, where she has served as an assistant principal since 2013. Before arriving in Oak Park, she held administrative positions in Skokie and Evanston.
The new principal earned her master’s degrees in Elementary Education and Educational Leadership from DePaul University, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Tennessee State University. Reed has also collaborated with researchers from Johns Hopkins and Northwestern universities to examine racial and ethnic disparities in public education.
