Village, Library Host School Supply Drive For Evergreen Park D124

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Beginning a new school year is exciting for students and parents, however, families who are shopping for back-to-school supplies may feel overwhelmed by the expense.

The Evergreen Park Public Library, Youth Department and village are teaming up to host a school supply drive to benefit families in Evergreen Park ESD 124 who may be experiencing financial hardship. The goal of the supply drive is to have every D124 student be school-ready on day one.

"Let's set students up for a safe and productive school year, making sure they're prepared and confident on their first day of school,” said teen librarian Mary Black.

New or gently used backpacks, markers, pens, crayons, dry erase markers, binders, notebooks, pencil cases, highlighters, glue sticks and other supplies can be dropped off through August 16 at the following locations:

• Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S. Troy Ave.
• Evergreen Park Youth Department, 3450 W. 97th St.
• Evergreen Park Village Hall, 9418 S. Kedzie Ave.
