Woman Accused Of Selling Fake Drivers Licenses On Facebook

Prosecutor said woman advertised making and selling fake drivers licenses on Facebook, and then sold on to an Evergreen Park cop.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- A Chicago woman was arrested for making and selling fake driver’s licenses, which she advertised on Facebook, prosecutors said. Cheridan Freeman, 31, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony charge of unlawful possession of a fraudulent ID. She is accused of selling a fake driver’s license to an undercover Evergreen Park cop.

According to the charges, Evergreen Park police saw a Facebook post on Nov. 7, 2017, in which a woman, later identified as Freeman, advertised that she could produce fake drivers license. Police sent a photo of one of their officers to Freeman. A few days later, the prosecutor said Freeman messaged back that the cop’s new driver’s license was ready. The cop and Freeman agreed to meet in front of a business in the 3200 block of West 95th Street. Police said the officer handed Freeman $120 and he was given the fake license with his photo but with a different person’s information.

Officers followed Freeman home after the sale and noted the make of her car, the prosecutor said. Freeman was arrested leaving her home early in the morning on Feb. 13.
