District 91 Waives K-8 Fees

Forest Park Elementary School District 91 waives fees due to surplus and shrinking student population, the Forest Park Review reports.

Preparing for a new school year involves some financial planning. New clothes, supplies, books and school fees are expenses that seem to all come at once.

But because of a surplus and shrinking student population in Forest Park Elementary School District 91, parents of students in kindergarten through eighth grade won't have to pay the regular registration fees, the Forest Park Review reported Tuesday.

The District 91 Board of Education last week approved recommendations to waive the fees, as well as field trip fees and fees for a fifth grade outdoor education program, according to the Review.

In Forest Park District 91, regular school fees range from $35 to $100 per year, depending on the child's grade.

Preschoolers' fees are $100 per year; Students in senior kindergarten through fifth grade cost $35 per year; and middle school students' fees are $40, plus $3 for a calendar/handbook, $6 for an assignment notebook and $20 for a gym uniform.
