Most Races in Forest Park to Be Contested this Spring
School boards and park board races have more candidates than slots; only one election is not in doubt.

Most of the races on the ballot in Forest Park this spring will be contested, with only one - the election for Proviso Township officials - already decided.
Voters will have a choice of candidates for the Elementary District 91 and Proviso High School District 209 school boards and the park board.
Only one slate of candidates filed to run for the variety of elected offices for Proviso Township.

The only contest that Forest Park won't be voting for this spring is commissioner. All terms for commissioner expire at one time; the last election for commissioner was in 2011.
The deadline for filing for the spring 2013 election was 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26.
