Welch Will Not Run for Re-Election in District 209
The Hillside resident plans to serve the remainder of his term.

At least once member of the Proviso District 209 school board plans to end his service in April.
Emanuel "Chris" Welch will not be a candidate for re-election to the Proviso School Board in 2013.
According to an email message from the campaign press, Welch plans to serve out the rest of his term, which expires in April.

There was no comment in the email from Welch himself.
Welch has served on the District 209 school board since 2001 and been its president since 2003.

He won a squeaker of a victory in March, beating out Rory Hoskins in the Democratic Primary race in the 7th District State Representative by fewer than 20 votes.
This Nov. 6 he is running unopposed for the seat held by Karen Yarbrough. Yarbrough is running to replace Eugene Moore who is retiring this year as Cook County Recorder of Deeds.
Forest Park and River Forest are part of the district.
Welch's term will expire when the new school board is seated next spring. The election is April 9, 2013.
In addition to Welch, terms of three other board members will expire: Brian Cross, Daniel Adams and Kevin McDermott. School board terms are for four years.
