Women Caught Re-tagging Items at Self Checkout
Police charged Ana Escobar, 33, of Chicago and Perla Hoyos, 27, of Berwyn with theft around 6 p.m. at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave.A store employee told police she saw the two women at two self checkout counters, scanning items using price tags from other items, police said. The employee said Escobar scanned several clothing items, a curling iron and light bulbs using a stick-on price tag that she transferred from item to item as she scanned, police said.
The employee stopped the women, took them to security and found Escobar had used a price tag for a $1 mug and scanned seven items worth a total of about $92, and Hoyos had used a tag for a $0.78 shampoo to scan for seven items worth about $110, police said.
Escobar was given a local ordinance citation for retail theft, re-tag. Hoyos was processed on the same charge, given a July 16 court date and released on bond.

Two Teens Charged With Theft
Police charged Michael Bonner, 18, of Forest Park and a 16-year-old boy with theft for stealing a cell phone at the Park District of Forest Park around 4:40 p.m. Bonner was processed and held for bond court.Theft at Walmart
Police charged Rakarra Gates, 23, of Chicago with retail theft for stealing cosmetics and clothes from Walmart around 2:40 p.m. She was released at the scene.TUESDAY, JUNE 11
Women Charged With Theft at K-Mart
Police charged Sandra Decosola, 39, of Forest Park and Kristina Dypas, 29, of Chicago with retail theft around 11:40 a.m. at K-Mart, 7630 Roosevelt Rd. A store employee told police the women put clothes and jewelry in their purses and left the store without paying. Police stopped the women in the parking lot and recovered 28 items worth a total of about $324, police said. The women were charged and given an Aug. 6 court date.MONDAY, JUNE 10
Retail Theft at Walmart
Aujia Ivory, 18, of Forest Park was given a local ordinance citation for retail theft around 7 p.m. at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. Police said a store employee saw Ivory put merchandise in her purse and leave without paying.
