The number of Frankfort's (ZIP code 60423) coronavirus cases increased by seven cases over the past week.

FRANKFORT, IL — The number of Frankfort's coronavirus cases increased by seven cases over the past week, according to data from the Will County Health Department. Frankfort (ZIP code 60423) has 141 cases as of June 10, compared to 134 cases on June 3, which represents a 5.2 percent increase.

In nearby towns in the Lincoln-Way area, both Mokena (ZIP code 60448) and New Lenox (ZIP code 60451) have fewer cases, with 127 and 119 cases, respectively, as of June 10. Manhattan (ZIP code 60442) has 44 cases, according to data from the county health department.

Nearby Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox reported a decrease of coronavirus inpatients once again at the hospital when compared to last week, according to data provided to Patch. As of June 5, the hospital told Patch it has 18 inpatients who have tested positive for the coronavirus and nine persons under investigation.

Many restaurants in Frankfort have now opened outdoor seating and dining since the state has moved to phase 3 of the Restore Illinois plan.

As of Wednesday, Illinois' coronavirus case count was 129,837 and the coronavirus has claimed the lives of 6,095 Illinois residents. Health authorities do not provide the number of deaths by municipality. In Will County, there are 6,025 cases of the coronavirus and 296 related deaths.
