1. Frankfort Teen Charged With 11 Counts Of Possession Of Child Porn: Sheriff (patch.com) — Frankfort residents are being informed that an 18-year-old local man has been charged with 11 counts of possessing child sexual abuse material following a months-long investigation. Will County detectives traced online tips to a home in Frankfort, seized electronic devices, and say they found about 1,000 illegal images and a video before the suspect was arrested and jailed pending a detention hearing.
2. Fort Frankfort Playground Officially Opens (patch.com) — Families in Frankfort can now enjoy the newly reopened Fort Frankfort playground, which has been renovated with an inclusive design so children of all abilities can play together. Backed by a $1.7 million state grant, the park also features new shade pavilions and public EV charging stations, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to be scheduled later.
3. Will County Health adds more Naloxone Distribution Boxes (thetimesweekly.com) — Frankfort residents can now access free naloxone at the Frankfort Public Library District, one of 29 red distribution box locations across Will County. The Health Department reports a 55% drop in opioid overdose deaths since 2025 and urges everyone, including non-users, to keep naloxone on hand for emergencies, with training available by email.
4. Five Huskies Named to CSC Academic All-District Team (niuhuskies.com) — A Northern Illinois University softball standout from Frankfort has earned her third straight CSC Academic All-District honor, highlighting both her classroom and on-field excellence. She and four teammates posted strong batting, fielding, and pitching stats while maintaining at least a 3.50 GPA. It’s a proud academic and athletic milestone for a former Lincoln-Way East Husky.
