Angry Orland Man Cuts Up Mom's Face With Knife, Threatens to Slice Off Her Fingers: Cops

The young man was apprehended after crashing into a snowbank and taking off on foot.

An Orland Park man attacked his mother with a knife, police said, hacking her face and threatening to slice off her fingers.

John Bradley, 22, was fresh off beating a domestic battery case at the Bridgeview Courthouse when went after his 53-year-old mother with a knife, police said.

“He beat her up, cut her face with a knife and threatened to cut her fingers off,” police said.

The mother was “eventually able to talk her way out of it and get free from him later in the night after he calmed down,” police said, but she later “drove by the house to get the mail (and) he must have seen her because he came after her in his vehicle.”

The mother reportedly headed to the Orland Park Police Department. Officers found her in the parking lot and she was “visibly extremely upset,” police said. Bradley broke off his pursuit when he saw her talking to the law.

An officer chased after Bradley, police said. Bradley ended up crashing into a snowbank, but got out of his car and ran for a few more blocks before he was caught.

Bradley was arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and unlawful restraint. The first domestic battery case against him was dropped three days after his arrest, police said.
