August Concerts On The Green Canceled

FRANKFORT, IL — Concerts on the Green will return next year, the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the events, announced on its Facebook page. The popular concert series had already been canceled for June and July, but the chamber had hoped to resume the series in August.

"After much discussion with Mayor Jim Holland, we are not able to comply with the Restore Illinois Phase IV guidelines and ensure a safe, controlled environment for concertgoers and our community," the chamber said on its Facebook.

The event is usually held throughout the summer on Breidert Green and offers live entertainment and music for guests.

"We look forward to offering Concerts on the Green again next year," the chamber said.

The concert series isn't the only August event canceled in Frankfort. The Amateur Rib Cook-Off and the National Night Out Against Crime events have also both been cancelled.
