Over Josh Engel’s lifetime of birding, he’s seen a lot of birds and learned a lot about birding and about birders. He has guided trips on four continents and conducted bird research around the world. Travel along with Josh as he shares personal stories and beautiful photographs, using the birds and places he's encountered to highlight the life lessons he's learned along the way.
About the Presenter
Josh, the founder of Red Hill Birding, grew up birding in the Chicago suburbs. After studying in Ecuador, he guided for an international tour company there before spending four years as a full-time guide in South Africa, leading trips across Southern Africa, Madagascar, and Asia. He has also worked as a Field Museum ornithologist, served on the Illinois Ornithological Society board, and helped lead the Illinois Young Birders. Based in Chicago, Josh is a frequent media contributor and a devoted husband and father.
