Casino Planned At U.S. 30 And Harlem: Matteson To Vote Next Week
The Chocktow Nation of Oklahoma is working on a project to bring a casino to the corner of Lincoln Highway and Harlem Avenue in Matteson.

MATTESON, IL - The list of south suburbs vying for a casino continues to grow as another one has been proposed for the corner of Lincoln Highway and Harlem Avenue in Matteson. The Chocktaw Nation of Oklahoma would operate this casino, which media reports indicate would include about 2,000 gaming positions, a 36,000 square foot convention space and a 200-room hotel.
Officials in Matteson are expected to vote on the proposal on Oct. 21, according to the Sun-Times.
Another casino is in the plans not far from this location near 175th and Halsted streets on the border of Homewood and East Hazel Crest. Wind Creek Hospitality seeks to open one at this location with similar luxuries as the one planned in Matteson.
