“Customers come first; processing work timely and accurately is my priority in addition to maintaining transparency while utilizing technology to improve efficiencies and keep expenses down,” Chasteen said in the article. “Utilizing my experience, knowledge and enthusiasm while serving the public makes me uniquely qualified to serve as your Will County Circuit Clerk.”

Her opponent, Marlene Carlson, ran for the office in 2012. She is hoping to address overcrowding and budgeting problems if elected in November.

“If you’ve ever dealt with our Will County Circuit Clerk’s office you will discover, as I have, that we suffer from serious overcrowding and over budgeting problems due to antiquated computer systems and inadequate process management,” Carlson said in a September 2015 Patch article. “The Will County Circuit Clerk’s office needs someone with experience to step up and lead in order to make these things better.”
