Drive-Thru Coffee Shop Plans Move Forward In Frankfort

The business, Sparks Coffee Co., will be located in the final undeveloped lot of the Hickory Creek Market Place.

FRANKFORT, IL — Plans for a drive-thru coffee shop in Frankfort can move forward after the Frankfort Village Board approved a major planned unit development change and four special use permits for the project.

The business, Sparks Coffee Co., will be located in the final undeveloped lot of the Hickory Creek Market Place shopping center off of La Grange Road.

The Board had sent the proposal back to the plan commission level in June, so that some changes could be made to the project. Now, at Monday's meeting, the Board approved the plans.

The four special use permits are to accommodate drive-up service windows, outdoor seating, a carry-out restaurant and extended hours of operation for a 5:30 a.m. opening, according to Board documents.

In the new plans, a wall sign on the west elevation has been changed, and a masonry band has been added to all sides of the building between windows and to the top of the roof, to match other buildings in the development.
