Illinois Philharmonic conductor Carmon DeLeone and soprano
NaGuanda Nobles will perform Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, Mozart's "Ah se in ciel, benigne stelle," Rachmaninoff's Vocalise and Mahler's Symphony No. 4 in G major. The transcendent qualities of the music on this program infuse one with emotional extremes: joy and sorrow, elegy and ecstasy. Soprano NaGuanda Nobles sings the Vocalise, a song without words, replete with lush melodies, while Mahler's Symphony No. 4 offers a glimpse of heaven through a child's innocent eyes. Bach's masterwork, Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, completes this selection of heavenly music. Tickets start at $30.
