Lincoln-Way East Students Prepare for Winter Play

"Every actor in the play has the opportunity to do some real character work," said Lincoln-Way East English teacher and winter play sponsor Hilary Gansauer. "This play has no 'stock characters,' so no matter how many lines, each actor is working hard to develop the show."

Students are busy learning their lines for the play, which will be performed Jan. 20-22 in the Performing Arts Center at Lincoln-Way East High School, 201 Colorado Ave., Frankfort.

Cast members include seniors Tatiana Ford, Jim Crumb, Hart Ryan Vander Ploeg, Brent Dobrovits, Alex Murphy, Jake Hayes, Samantha Kuebler and John Bird; juniors Jackie Villasenor, Maria Welser, Shannon Ueberfluss, Nicki Perry, Sean Sheetz and Jessica Cirullo; sophomores Elly Saindon and Cydney Rubenstein; and freshmen Staci Tepper, Maggie Allen and Jacob Pieczynski

The play tells the story of two young social workers, Bill and Linda, and how their work with Runaway House provides a common purpose in their lives that strengthens the  bond between them.

Audience members will be exposed to the anguish of the social workers as they try to communicate with their young charges as well as the runaways who are unable to go home but afraid to be alone. Both worlds collide almost tragically when Linda learns that her own sister has run away from home.
