Sandy Newell is an artist working and living in Frankfort, Illinois. She lives with her husband, three children and dog, Toby.
She received her BFA from the University of Illinois and her MBA from Loyola University of Chicago.
Sandy began her career as a graphic designer and successfully operated her own design studio for fifteen years. She also taught art at the local grade school for several years, learning as much from her students as they did from her.
For the past three years, Sandy has devoted herself full time to creating her artwork. She is a member of the Illinois Watercolor Society (IWS), and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. Her painting "White Orchids" was juried into the Small Waters exhibit sponsored by the IWS. "Red Tulips" won an Osio-Brown award at the IWS 2010 annual members show. She has also exhibited at the McCord Gallery in Palos Park, Il.
